James F. Sterio

Jim Sterio has for more than 30 years acted as lender's counsel in a wide variety of commercial transactions, including general corporate, asset based, SBA guaranteed, real estate, and construction-related matters. He also brings broad experience to clients in the workout and restructuring of commercial loans and has assisted clients in a variety of other business related transactions, including the purchase and development of land, business acquisitions and divestitures as well as leasing transactions. In addition, he has extensive experience in document drafting for residential, industrial, and mixed use condominium projects and conversions. He has also presented to various groups on topics of entity selection and secured transactions under the Uniform Commercial Code.

Jim was appointed a Land Court Title Examiner in 1979 and has many years of experience in the examination and certification of real estate titles. He is also an agent for several national title insurance companies.

Jim is admitted to the Massachusetts bar and Maine bar and is admitted before the U. S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He currently serves as an at large member of the Board of Directors for the Spar and Spindle Girl Scout Council, Inc. and serves also on its Executive and Investment Committees. He is also a former member of the Town of Topsfield Planning Board and Board of Appeals and the Town of Boxford Historic Districts Commission.
